Corsair Receives Japanese Utility Model for “Sensing” Mouse Wheel

It’s hard not to be picky about something as small as a mouse wheel – a great one can feel fantastic during gaming, whereas a crummy one might as well be useless.  Corsair recently was awarded Japanese Utility Model No. 3,251,063, which describes a “sensing roller device” for a mouse that can provide a “virtual bodily sensation” (that is, it seems, tactile feedback like vibrations).

According to the publication, Corsair’s design has accuracy, lightness, and flexibility improvements, particularly over conventional “rachet”-style designs.
